摘要

The magnetic moment of a permanent magnet is determined from forces acting on the magnet in nonuniform magnetic fields produced by two coaxial currentcarrying coils. Therefore, the measurements are performed under well controllable and reproducible conditions. With a data- acquisition system, the experiments can be done in a reasonably short time. The magnetic moment of the magnet is in good agreement with values obtained by other experimental techniques. The experiment is well suited for undergraduate laboratories.
