I am now sitting here writing my last notes that will appear in 2017 but for the month of November. It appears we have been one of the most fortunate areas in the whole of the country when it comes to the weather, fhe North-West seems to be affected more than any with the tremendous amounts of rain. Paul Stubbs who is working in charge of an extension of a hotel in Windermere was ordered by the Police to close up site at 2.00 p.m. and the roads were flooding and workers could be stranded. Needless to say he complied. At the same time David Kay and Laura Ewan at Lancaster had their poultry pens flooded and as water reached the shed floors moved birds out. The same thing happened to Chris Bennett's just a bit south of Garstang. Where we live on top of the Berkshire Downs I have been told would be the best place to build an Ark. The North-East coast has seen most of the snow with reports the other day from up Whitby-way of snow, sleet, rain and hail all on the same day.
