摘要

First introduced in the late 1990s with the early pioneering work by Dr. Reza Malik, the high-power 532 nm laser wavelength, originally described as a KTP laser, was the first high-power photoselective ablative laser technology for the prostate . In 2001, the laser was developed into an 80-W quasi-continuous laser, and now is capable of delivering 120 W with a better-defined beam. The first prospective multicentre study was revealing, in that it represented the initial experience of the involved centres and surgeons with this technology, and its success and durability was consistent with its ease of use for debulking prostate tissue via a transurethral technique which was relatively easy to learn
