摘要

Idler bearings are used for automobile engine accessories. This bearing sometimes causes a noise when engine starts at low temperature, We found that this noise was caused by the resonance between axially elastic spring characteristics due to reduction of bearing internal clearance and passing frequency of rolling elements. In order to avoid the noise, it is necessary to specify the bearing clearance considering raceway expansion when mounted. Besides the bearing clearance, belt rolling angle, belt tension, and grease are other important factors.
