In accordance with 1-1-3/3 of the ABS Rules for Conditions of Classification (Part 1), the classificationA1 Passenger Vessel is to be assigned to vessels designed and specifically fitted for the carriage of passengers and built to the requirements of this Chapter and relevant sections of the Rules.In addition to the above, the vessel is to have a Passenger Ship Safety Certificate from the Administration of registry or its agent evidencing the vessel's compliance with the requirements of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea 1974, as amended.
