A key element in the drive to reduce greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions since 2014 is the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative(OGCI),which aims to significantly cut methane emissions from upstream operations.A total of 13 oil companies,accounting for 32% of global operated oil and gas production,are now members of this initiative.Meanwhile,carbon capture and sequestration techniques are seen by many oil and gas exploration and production(E&P)companies to be an essential part of their toolkit to make the upstream sector’carbon neutral'.
