Global demand for pesticides is to increase by 2.9% annually from $45,045 million in 2009 to $52,000 million in 2014, says a report by the US-based market research company, Freedonia Group (Cleveland, Ohio). The figure combines sales of agrochemicals with pesticides used in the non-crop and household sectors. The study predicts that the revenue declines in 2009 resulting from price falls for the herbicide, glyphosate, will be reversed.
