More biocides have been granted full EU approval and a listing on Annex I of the EU biocidal products Directive (98/8). Three are the rodenticides, brodifacoum, warfarin and warfarin sodium, while one is the insecticide, magnesium phosphide. In addition, aluminium phosphide, which is already approved for use as a rodenticide, has received additional authorisation for insecticidal use. The five active ingredients were in the review programme for existing ais and will be added to Annex I on February 1st 2012 to give member states and companies time to meet the requirements of the listing.
