Total sales of Chinese pesticide companies in the first nine months of 2003 amounted to Yuan 26,185 million(3,150 million),up by 14% on the same period in the previous year.This growth was consistent with the 13.3% increase seen in the first six months of the year(Agrow No 435,p 24).Profit growth accelerated in the third quarter of the year,resulting in a 21.9% rise in profit to Yuan 957 million at the nine-month stage,according to an analysis of government figures in China Chemical Reporter.This followed profit growth of 6% in the first half.
