Around 65% of people in France would buy genetically modified food if it was cheap enough,according to a survey by economists at Emory University,Atlanta,US.Of those willing to buy GM food,42% said they would be willing to buy GM products if they were cheaper than alternatives,while 23% of participants would buy GM food whatever the price.In the experiment,35% of participants refused to buy a product after they were told that it contained GMOs,even though they were willing to purchase it before finding out about the GMO content.
