It's early September and autumn is on the way. Typical fall weather throughout much of the U.S., sunny days and cool nights, is followed by dazzling displays as leaves change from the endless monotony of green to interesting and often stunning arrays of color. For many of us, the view makes driving from Point A to Point B a lot more pleasurable, and taking the long way home suddenly seems like a good idea. Many localities host the final outdoor festivals of the year, celebrating the traditional harvest season while farmers reap the last of the crops and gardeners pick the last remaining items in preparation for winter.
