摘要

At some point, graphic design became communication design. Now, for all intents and purposes, it's experience design. But these days, perhaps, all design is experience design. For design, the challenges of the twenty-first century are clear. Design is a critical ingredient in creating value in a world characterised by a fluid global economy in which the importance of cultural differences are as great as the opportunity for shared values. Limitations, long-term, on the availability of finite resources require sensitivity to all the measures of sustainability: economic, environmental, social, and cultural. Solutions require multidisciplinary teams because problems are complex, yet they must respond to the need for simplicity and authenticity. The dynamics of participation require an understanding of how to tap into the well of creativity within the crowd, as both contributor and consumer. At the same time, understanding context essential aspect of the designer's role.
