摘要

This issue of the Journal of Applied Arts & Health reflects on the Arch of Arts in Health conference that took place at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa, Israel, 17-19 March 2013 and includes articles contributed by a number of its presenters. The edition is organized into five parts. The first part, 'Applied Arts and Health Around the World and in Israel', includes theoretical overviews that address the state of the profession globally. The second part, 'Patient Care: Applying the Arts with a Variety of Populations', is the issue's largest section and features three articles that describe how the arts are used with specific populations. The issue's third section 'Applied Arts in the Community', includes two articles relating to artistic interventions that prevent physical and social maladies and promote communal well-being. The two articles found in the issue's fourth part, entitled 'Applied Arts in Education', look at how the nexus of the arts and health is taught to caregiv-ers around the world and asks if our institutions could be doing a better job. The fifth part, 'Using Applied Arts with Caregivers', includes an article that provides insight into how the arts can be used for self-care and burnout prevention among those who work with people at the end of their lives.
