Ass I sit in the Silver Diner at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, attempting to sip a hand-dipped chocolate shake through a straw, I'm reminded that everything old is new again. Many hairstyles, fashion, furniture and makeup nowadays are retro. Heck, even the new president and his wife are an updated version of Camelot. Plastered on the wall of the diner, on the menu and paper products is its tag line: "An Authentic American Classic." It made me realize just how fortunateI am. Not only have I had my father, Jim Zampini, as a friend and mentor, but I've been blessed to be around several nursery "old-timers," like the Honorable R. James Schroeder of Agora Gardens Inc., Madison, OH, and the late Ed Losely of Herman Loselyand Son Inc., Perry, OH.
