An approximate model was proposed for the rapid preconcentration of explosive vapors in traps of fine metal gauze, rapid extraction of the vapors from the traps by thermal desorption, and injection into a polycapillary chromatographic column. The results of experiments on the remote vortex-type collection of vapors from the test surface are considered in terms of the ratio between the distance to the test surface and the diameter of the vortex flow and of the characteristics of air flows.
