摘要

The analysis of the conservative and non-conservative thermals on the inclined boundary with a constant slope is carried out. The numerical model used is the standard k - ε turbulence model in which the effect of the density stratification is taken into consideration. The partial differential equations are discretized by the SIMPLE method proposed by Patanker. The saline inclined thermals are analyzed as an example of the conservative case. The turbid inclined thermals in which fine solid particles are suspended in water are analyzed as an example of the non-conservative case. The concentration contours and the velocity vectors are obtained using the numerical results. They show us the flow characteristics of the inclined thermals in detail. The variations of the travel speed, the maximum thickness, the maximum concentration in a thermal and the total negative buoyancy in a thermal are calculated and are compared with our experimental results obtained before. Reasonable agreements are obtained for both of the saline and the turbid inclined thermals.
