My term as editor of AJIDD comes to a close with the current issue. I have had the privilege of serving as editor since 2008. I would like to take this opportunity to make some personal observations about the journal and our field. I also wish to share some personal thoughts and offer thanks to the people who have made my tenure such a rewarding experience.
