We have developed stainless steel tube type multiple core OPGW (84c) to meet the increasing demand for higher fiber count. Characteristics of the stainless steel tube type OPGW were confirmed satisfactorily through various tests, such as crush test, heat cycle test, field test and so on. Electric corrosion problem between stainless steel and aluminum has been solved by applying aluminum plating to stainless steel tube and by filling corrosion resistant compound. The anti-corrosive performances were confirmed satisfactorily by neutral salt spray test as well as site exposure test.
