There has been quite a bit written lately on the duty evasion/fraud investigations and hearings, and now legislation initiated by Sen. Ron Wyden (D., Ore.). The American Institute for International Steel (AIIS), as the leading representative of the steel trading and trade services community, feels the need to weigh in on the matter. First and foremost, it must be made crystal clear that our organization and its members in no form or fashion condone any level of illegal or illicit activity when it comes to our country’s trade laws.
