Alcoa has failed to reach agreement with the labour union at its 420ktpy Becancour aluminium smelter. Both sides failed to reach an agreement to renew the labour contract, which expired on 22 November. The two sides agreed to retain their working relationship and will continue on talks to seek a solution. No production losses are expected yet.
