摘要

The strength of polyethlene (PE) gas distribution pipes are examined under cyclic loading. A specimen is cut out from medium-density PE pipes for gas distribution. Experiments are conducted on fatigue strength of PE pipe specimens with V-shapednotch and also with circular crack. The fatigue strength of V-notched specimens are equivalent in the range of stress concentration from 2.5 to 6.7 approximately. Also in circular-cracked specimens, it is shown that the fatigue strength does not change in the range of crack depth from 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm, and it depends on the depth of crack if the crack grows or not, and then the relationship between stress amplitude and crack depth is devided into three regions as A, B and C.
