OMV's gas supply contract negotiations with Gazprom remain "ongoing," the Austrian firm said Tuesday following a meeting in Vienna between CEO Gerhard Roiss and his counterpart from Russia's Gazprom, Alexei Miller. That is somewhat at odds with a December 2013 statement by OMV saying its 50%- owned subsidiary EconGas had reached "an interim agreement" effective from April 2013 that was "closer to current market conditions" (IOD Dec.10'13). The roughly 5 Bcm/ yr Gazprom contract is the largest by any long-term supplier to Austria.
