Qatar's state-owned Qatar Petroleum (QP) on Friday confirmed it will go ahead with plans for an $11 billion redevelopment of its Bul Hanine field. The project will first aim to stabilize production at 45,000 barrels per day offshore field, and then work to double capacity by 2028. At $244,000 per incremental barrel, Bul Hanine appears poised to set a new regional benchmark for an upstream development, underlining the fact that the days of ultra-lost cost Mideast oil are ending.
