Iran has launched its first upstream tender under the long-awaited Iran Petroleum Contract (IPC), asking companies to bid for the massive South Azadegan onshore oil field as early as next month, the head of state-run National Iranian Oil Co. International oil companies (IOCs) can submit bids for the field, located in Iran's west on the border with Iraq, by Nov. 17, with the winner expected to be announced within two to three months of receipt of proposals, NIOC Managing Director Ali Kardor told International Oil Daily on the sidelines of the Iranian Petroleum and Energy Club 2016 Congress and Exhibition in Tehran.
