Trade data to September shows Russian gasoil facing stiff competition in Europe this year as new suppliers lined up to fill the region’s growing diesel deficit. European gasoil imports, mostly of diesel, rose slightly in the year to September, according to International Energy Agency (IEA) data — despite economic malaise that crimped demand for most other products.
