Malaysia's Petronas on Friday unveiled plans for a $20 billion refining and petrochemical complex that would increase the country's refining capacity by nearly 50% and meet growing domestic and export demand. The plan envisages building a refinery, a naphtha cracker, a petrochemicals plant and, possibly, an LNG receiving terminal in the southern peninsular state of Johor, just north of Singapore and the strategic shipping lanes of the Malacca Strait.
