Russian oil firms continue to try to boost effective use of associated gas, but they are still behind the 95% usage target set by the state. Russian Natural Resources Minister Sergei Donskoi told journalists last week that from January to June the associated gas usage rate stood at 87.3%, up from 82.5% in the same period last year but still down from the 95% figure oil firms were obliged to reach in 2012.
