Houston—West-lake Chemical Corp., after having its proposal to acquire Axiall Corp. unanimously rejected by Axiall's board of directors, has notified Axiall of its intent to nominate 10 independent board members at Axiall's 2016 annual meeting (PCN, 8 Feb 2016, p 1). In the notice, Westlake said it believes that the election of its slate of directors "may increase the likelihood that Westlake Chemical's proposal to acquire the company would be successful."
