Houston—US drilling activity was relatively flat in the past week, amid oil prices that have crept down about 10% from levels approaching $50/b earlier this month, according to the latest Baker Hughes rig count released Friday. The oilfield service company’s weekly report shows domestic oil rigs dropped by one to 594, while the overall rig count was unchanged at 787. In contrast, 1,595 oil rigs and 1,927 total rigs were working in the US during the same week in 2014.
