Jakarta—The first upgrade under Pertamina’s extensive refinery upgrade program is unlikely to be ready before 2020, as the work involved is expected to take at least five years, the Indonesian state-owned company’s president commissioner Sugiharto said Tuesday. “Originally it [was due to come on stream] in 2019, but now it is impossible to meet the target in four years. So it is likely after 2020, as construction will take at least five years,” Sugiharto said on the sidelines of the Platts Indonesia Energy conference.
