Colombia is not the only country looking to change its production contract models to encourage exploration and production. Here is a select list of countries with proposed or recent changes to E&P contracts: Brazil Brazil’s Senate and lower house are debating separate bills that would make significant changes to the country’s productionsharing regime. The key change would be to eliminate the obligation for financially troubled state-led oil company Petrobras hold at least a 30% share and serve as the operator of any subsalt exploration and production blocks in an area known as the “subsalt polygon.”
