摘要

With the advent of techniques to make an electrical contact to molecules on a(semi)conducting substrate,it has become possible to measure single-molecule conductance and related properties such as rectification and gated transistor-like response.Beyond molecules for electronics,molecules demonstrating high molecular conductivity with high Seebeck coefficients and Low thermal conductivity are now leading to design concepts for molecular thermoelectric materials.All of these outcomes depend on understanding the nature of through-molecule conductance.
