Brazil’s state-controlled Petrobras is brushing aside any risk to its ambitious refn- ery sales plan from mounting pressure over its market-based fuel pricing system that is critical for investment. Neither the threat of another truckers’ strike nor claims of predatory pricing by fuel importers association Abicom will derail the divestment process, which is scheduled to culminate in 2022, a senior Petrobras executive tells Argus. Anti- monopoly agency Cade has approved a deadline extension for signing refnery purchase and sale agreements to 30 April 2021 from 31 December 2020, the frm says, taking into account delays related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
