摘要

Satellite constellations consisting of two spacecraft (SC) pairs moving in different orbits-the socalled next-generation gravity missions-are analyzed for establishing their optimal orbital parameters providing high spatial and temporal resolution of the Earth's gravity. Based on the numerical modeling, the SC orbital elements simultaneously satisfying the requirements of smallest changes in intersatellite ranges and largest coverage of the Earth's surface by the SC sub-satellite tracks are determined. The optimal orbital parameters of multi-pair constellation provide 97% coverage of the Earth's surface by sub-satellite paths over a 10-day interval with angular resolution of 1 degrees x 1 degrees corresponding to degree n approximate to 200 geopotential decomposition, which is four times as high in terms of spatial resolution and three times as high in terms of temporal resolution as in case of using a single GRACE type constellation.
