摘要

The work discusses the characteristics of isothermal flow and scalar mixing fields, downstream of a variety of axisymmetric baffles in a double-cavity premixer/disk burner configuration. The scope of the work is to enhance knowledge regarding the impact of fully premixed or stratified, inlet fuel-air mixture conditions on the mixing disposition and fuel-air placement in the recirculating wake of a range of practical flame stabilizers. PIV and FTIR instrumentation are employed to obtain measurements of the mean and turbulent velocity fields and of the fuel concentration topologies throughout the near wake development.
