A drop in consumption of paper products in the UK has been mirrored by a fall in the volume of paper and board collected for recycling, said the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI). In its annual review, the CPI said paper recycling continued a seven-year decline in 2019, with a drop of 2.5% from 7-54 to 7-35 million tonnes. It noted that designing for recyclability was "a key part of creating saleable and recyclable secondary materials".
