AS JOE MAIN'S seven-year term at the helm of the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) comes to a close, the nation's coal mines are headed for another record low in workplace deaths. Main, who will step down on Jan. 20, said he is proud of the progress made in worker health and safety and that he is hopeful that mining companies will work with the incoming Trump administration to continue that progress.
