摘要

Morphological and anatomical characters supported with illustrations and ecology of Lactarius lignyotus var. lignyotus, L. subuellereus var. subdistans, L. gerardii var. subrubescens are described in this communication for the first time from India. Extensive survey and critical examination of specimens of the genus Lactarius of the family Russulaceae from different parts of Western and North-Western Himalaya has been carried out by the authors for more than last six years. During their macrofungal investigation-tours in this region, the authors came across Lactarius lignyotus va. lignyotus, L. subvellereus var. subdistans and L. gerardii var. subrubescens which are not yet described and illustrated (Atri et al., 1994; Rawla, 2002; Das and Sharma, 2004) from India. Though L. subvellereus var. subdistans and L. gerardii var. subrubescens were reported earlier by the authors (Das and Sharma, 2002), but are described and illustrated here in detail.
