Detailed reports have been published of bradyar-rythmias occurring with the antiplatelet agent ticagrelor. One of these reports, published in 2020, involved a 55-year-old woman who experienced six episodes of complete atrioventricular block with a bradycardia of 39 beats per minute, around 12 hours after starting treatment with a loading dose of ticagrelor plus a beta-blocker for an acute coronary syndrome.The disorders did not recur after replacing ticagrelor with another antiplatelet agent, clopido-gre/(1). Another report, published in 2018, concerned a 75-year-old woman who had an episode of sinus bradycardia with a heart rate of 30 beats per minute, with episodes of complete atrioventricular block and pauses of up to 5 seconds, after a loading dose of ticagrelor 180 mg for an acute coronary syndrome.The disorders did not recur after replacing ticagrelorwith clopidogrel (2).
