摘要

B. M. Mandal was born in 1941. He received B.Sc (Hons) degree in Chemistry in 1960, M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering & Chemical Technology in 1963 and Ph.D. in 1968, all from the University of Calcutta. He did his doctoral research in Polymer Chemistry (1963-1968) at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Calcutta under the tutelage of the celebrated Professor Santi Ranjan Palit. He became a Faculty of the same Institute in 1969 and rose to the rank of Professor in 1984. He also worked for a year as a Research Associate in an Industrial Polymer laboratory with Dr. N. G. Gaylord in New Jersey, USA (1974-1975) and did postdoctoral research for two years with Prof. J. P. Kennedy at the Institute of Polymer Science, University of Akron, USA (1975-1977).
