A clinical diagnosis of intraoral sebaceous hyperplasia (Fordyce spots) was made by a dental specialist. The child remained well clinically and the lesions resolved spontaneously by day 7 of life.Vesicular lesions in a neonate may be due to herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection, but also may arise from benign aetiologies, including sebaceous hyperplasia and lymphangiomatous malformations.
