Brazilian state oil firm Petrobras has agreed to sell its share in the deepwater Papa Terra field as it continues to slim down its portfolio and focus on its high-margin pre-salt operations. Local independent 3R Petroleum, backed by private equity investors with Starboard Asset, will acquire the Papa Terra assets in a $105 million deal. 3R is focused on the development of mature fields, and has previously purchased both onshore and near-shore assets from Petrobras.
