Taipei—CPC Corp. of Taiwan is planning to build a new cracker in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to replace its older No. 4 cracker, which cannot meet customer demand, according to several local media reports. The new $2.94-billion cracker is expected to produce 1-million t/y of ethylene. CPC plans to break ground in 2025 and begin production 2028.
