S&P Global Platts assessed spot battery-grade nickel sulfate, with minimum 22% nickel content and maximum 100ppb magnetic material, at Yuan 32,500/mt ($4,946/mt) DDP China on March 31, down Yuan 1,000/mt from March 24. Chinese battery-grade nickel sulfate prices fell for the fifth consecutive week on March 31. The official LME cash nickel price closed at $16,237/mt on March 30, down $2,418/mt from the start of the month. Its counterpart on the Shanghai Futures Exchange for April contract was placed at Yuan 119,800/mt on March 31, down Yuan 760/mt from March 24 and Yuan 3,450/mt from March 30.
