The European Commission’s decision to impose definitive duties of 21.2%-32.1% on imports of aluminum extrusions originated from China on March 30 is likely to have a limited impact on the Chinese aluminum market, sources said. However, the increasing trade frictions and the EU’s decision to levy carbon tax on the imported products failing to meet the carbon emission regulations will add more difficulties to Chinese aluminum products exports in the coming years, China’s state-owned researcher Antaike said in a March report.
