To tackle the problems existing in China's lead and zinc Industry, such as lack of raw materials, backward technology and equipment, low level of concentration and environmental pollution, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) is now conducting an investigation and survey over the industry, in hope that some measures and policies would be introduced soon to guide the healthy and ordered development of China's lead and zinc industry. Experts with Antaike are invited to participate in the survey. China's lead and zinc industry has made quite great progress in recent years, and China is now one of the world biggest producers and consumers of lead and zinc products. Driven by strong demand, world prices of lead and zinc keep on climbing up, which in turn stimulates the expansion of lead and zinc smelting capacities. Statistics show that from January to October, the investment in expanding lead and zinc smelting capacities rose by 109.81 percent year-on-year to 5.772 billion yuan.
