During the recently held forum for zinc producers and downstream users, the experts expressed their worries about the shortage of zinc resources and appealed for the recycling of the metal. World demand and consumption of zinc has been increasing in recent years. And China is gradually running out of zinc resources. Statistics in 2005 shows China only has 20.95 million tonnes of extractable zinc reserves, and the basic reserves are about 32.5 million tonnes. Given the current mining capacity, domestic zinc resources can only last 7 to 8 years. And the best way out is to strengthen the recycling of the metal.
