摘要

The hazard of the contaminants to the ecosystem is estimated by the risk assessment of contaminated sites. Not the total amount of the contaminants present in a given soil is available for the organisms living in the soil or getting into contact with the soil. The contaminants undergo aging (irreversible sorption within the micro- and nanopores in the soil) resulting in lower risk for the soil biota. Especially the lipophilic compounds sparingly soluble in water are retained strongly within the soil. The term "bioavailability" refers to the fraction of a chemical in a soil that can be taken up or transformed by living organisms [1]. It depends on the physico-chemical characteristics of the soil and of the contaminant as well as on the species or even on the individual organism.
