Nissan reported its fifth successive quarter of falling operating profit for Q1-2018/19, with a 29% fall as profitability weakened substantially in Japan and slightly in NAFTA while European losses increased, leaving only a small rise in Asia to partly offset the decline. Revenue fell by 1.6% to ￥2,717bn as group sales dropped by 3.0% to 1.3 million units. Operating profit fell 28.8% to ￥109.1bn, reducing the margin by 1.5pts to 4.0%.
