I strongly believe that companies should release their GHG data either based on operational and/or commercial denominators (e.g, CO_2 emissions per running hour or per revenue unit etc). Actual measures taken to reduce emissions and increase operational efficiency-or at the very least action plans to-should also be made publicly accessible. Although SEEMP sets generic measures, actual evidence is important as a benchmark for best practices and lessons learned to facilitate improvements. In southeast Asia, reporting requirements are still in their infancy so there is little data in the open except that from public-listed companies, such as sustainability reports.
